Becoming an Instrument of the Divine Through the Ray Man Shabad

Throughout her upcoming Light of Sacred Chant Tour, celebrated devotional singer, Snatam Kaur will lead a new workshop called Becoming an Instrument of the Divine Through the Ray Man Shabad. This three-and-a-half-hour workshop will combine sacred posture, breath, and meditation practice with instruction in the Ray Man Shabad, a sacred poem by Guru Gobind Singh who lived in the 17th century.

“With the Ray Man Shabad, there’s a space that can open up, where we’ve come to a place of clarity within our beings and in our auric field,” said Snatam. “Chanting from this place of opening and balance within our bodies and the auric field, from this enlivened place, practitioners can call forth energies from the universe that guide us to become instruments of the Divine.”

Workshop participants will learn the meaning and pronunciation of the Ray Man Shabad. They will also experience extended, in-depth chanting of this Shabad with Snatam, and live improvisational music by Snatam’s band, Ram Dass, Grecco Buratto, and Sukhmani Rayat, will underscore the workshop experience.

Support for a 40 day practice will be provided for participants after the workshop to fully integrate the energy of this Shabad. The 40-day commitment is a deeply moving experience that supports chanters and musicians, brings clarity to parenting, career, and relationships, and can help participants understand the sacredness of their life’s work.
