"Bu Kulthoum" The name derived from combining the names of world-renowned Egyptian singer Um Kulthoum and legendary pre-Islamic Arab warrior and poet Amr Bin Kulthoum. A rapper, a music producer and a film director from Syria, Mounir Bu Kolthoum has been revolutionizing political rap in the Middle East. Currently residing in Amsterdam, Bu Kulthoum is considered one of the most important hip-hop & soul acts from the Arab region.



In 2019 he released two music videos 'Jouwana' and 'Walle' both got over 1 million views and rated as one of the music highlights of 2019 in the Middle East.

In December, the German-Syrian band Shkoon will release their long-awaited debut album “Rima”, sending out a message of cultural diversity to the world. Shkoon’s concerts have attracted a diverse audience for many years, bringing together people of all religions, colors and backgrounds. Ameen (vocal) and Maher (violin) came to Germany due to the war in Syria and met Thorben (piano & production) in Hamburg by coincident. After a spontaneous jam session the project Shkoon project was born followed by years of full schedules touring around the world.



Musically, the album is situated between influences of electronic downbeat, deep house, dub and hip-hop. The band members come from a variety of different musical backgrounds and have created their very own sound with a mix of influences between the Arabic and Western world. Piano, violin, synthesizers, percussion and vocals merge with oriental melodies and western electronic beats, taking the listener on a journey that blurs the boundaries of cultures. Shkoon is more than a German-Syrian live act with Arabic lyrics. In addition to their own lyrics, the band uses traditional musical folklore elements of the Arab community, which today appear more relevant than ever.



Shkoon creates a magical vibe at their live performances and enjoy traveling with the audience through different spaces.

Zum Kater-Konzert bringen Stereofysh jetzt Neues und Altes mit: Ungehörtes Live-Instrumentarium mit electronic candy vom ersten Album, sommerliche Vibrationen aus der Ohana-Phase und blütenfrische Premieren aus der aktuellen Produktion.



Bei allen Experimenten bleiben Lysann, Lars und Gunnar aber „vom ersten Moment an extrem sympathisch“ [DeBug] und „liefern wieder feinstes handgemachtes House abseits aller momentan aktuellen Strömungen. Und genau deshalb knallt jeder Track so angenehm rein.“ [blu]

Für seine süßen 17 Jahre ist Lil Mosey schon ganz schön fly. Vor einem Jahr erschien sein Debütalbum „Northsbest“, und eben legte er bereits den Nachfolger „Certified Hitmaker“ vor, auf dem er den eingeschlagenen und erfolgreichen Weg konsequent weiterverfolgt. Die künstliche HiHat tickert sich durch die Takte, der Trap-Bass rollt durch die Tracks und gibt den wahren Rhythmus vor, und Lil Mosey rappt mit seinem leicht verwaschenen Akzent obercool und im lässigen Singsang-Style durch seine Reime, inspiriert von Meek Mills Geschichten, Träumen und Alpträumen.



Lil Mosey hat die Highschool geschmissen, um sich voll auf die Musik konzentrieren zu können. Seinen erster Hit „Pull Up“ hat er innerhalb von 15 Minuten aufgenommen. Es war wie eine Explosion und eine perfekte Blaupause für seinen coolen und ziemlich spielerischen lyrischen Style. Es folgten mit „Boof Pack“ und „Noticed“ zwei weitere, erstaunlich ausgebuffte Tracks und dann die erste Platte.



Das Auf und Ab im jugendlich-erfolgreichen Leben sind die Themen, ohne dass da einfach nur Klischees abgespult werden. Lil Mosey weiß, wo er herkommt – aus armen Verhältnissen in Seattle – und hat diesen wertvollen Erfahrungsschatz bei all seinem Fame nie vergessen. Darum sind seine Storys auch so frisch, egal ob er über Bling-Bling redet oder eben gerade nicht. Diese Leichtigkeit der Stücke hebt ihn von den vielen Kollegen ab und machen ihn zu einem Ausnahmetalent und den ganzen Generation-Z-Rappern. Lil Mosey startet weiter durch und kommt im Februar erneut für eine exklusive Show nach Berlin.

Die Schülerinnen und Schüler der Musikschule Berliner Stadtmusikanten tragen erarbeitete Musikstücke beim alljährlichen Weihnachtskonzert vor.

Das 2018 gegründete Laurids Richter Quartett widmet sich mit seinem aktuellen Programm dem US-Amerikanischen Gitarristen Sonny Sharrock. Gespielt werden Kompositionen seines letzten und vielbeachteten Recordings Ask the Ages. Mit dem Gitarristen Werner Neumann, einem Virtuosen des deutschen Jazz, sowie den beiden Musikern Florian Kästner (p) und Tim Kleinsorge (b) hat der Berliner Drummer Laurids Richter die passenden Mitstreiter für ein spannendes musikalisches Projekt gefunden.
